About
Reader Alert is a service for people who want to keep track of new releases by their favorite authors. Simply create an alert for each of the authors you want to track and you'll receive an email when any of those authors publish a new book.
In addition, Reader Alert also offers users the ability to create alerts based on keyword, title, and binding (hardcover, paperback, audiobook, or Kindle). So for example, you could create an alert for new paperback books with "mountain biking" in the title.
Users can also follow new publications by genre. For example, a user can get an email alert with a list of new medical thriller releases for that week. Or if you own a Kindle, you could receive alerts about all the new sci-fi/fantasy books on the Kindle.
There are no limits to the number of alerts you can create and it's free to sign up! Our website is still in beta so if you have any questions or problems with the site let us know.
History
ReaderAlert.com was launched in August of 2009. For years Chris Schaeffer (http://www.chrisschaeffer.com, @chrischaeffer) had been kicking around the idea of an online book alert service to help him keep track of his favorite authors and genres. In early 2009 Chris contacted Greg Pierce of Agile Tortoise (http://agiletortoise.com, @agiletortoise) to help develop Reader Alert. Mark Retzloff (http://markretzloff.com, @markretzloff) designed the Reader Alert logo.
